Since Punk is absent from the ball, Jeremy Wendell is asked to announce this year's Oil Man - it's Bobby. Ellie is asked to speak on his behalf, and Ellie says that her joy for Bobby's award is tempered with sorrow that Bobby's son, who meant more to him than anyone else, will never know his legacy. In lieu of that, she says that the award should go to Christopher, and asks Pam to accept the award for her son.
thats cheer was for Barbara being back! just loved this scene!
so moving

Great video clip. I LOVED the speeches that Pam and Miss Ellie made on Bobby's behalf at the Oil Baron's Ball in the dream season.

Patrick Duffy ugyan nem szerepel ebbn az evadban, megis ez a legjobb szezon szerintem, mert ebben van lehetosege igazan kibontakozni Victoria Principal-nak, aki a kedvencem volt:-)

I guess so, but that dream some saw as pathetic. I mean JR dealing with a foreign lady shipper and not knowing the actual Billionare, Marinos. The season without Bobby seemed stupid and pointless. I agreed with Larry Hagman, Philip Capice was trash. There was no point. I would have kept more of Weststar in because it was clearly obvious that Wendell had his eyes set on fucking Ewing oil up and Screwing JR. That would have been more fun, because with Bobby Dead, JR&Wendell would have gone at it.

Yep, his return to life might have left some of the audiencefeeling cheated but the show survived a fair few years. The character of JR didn't work without Bobby, the 2 of them balanced the show, & both Patrick & Larry were great, especially in scenes with each other. Besides, many of the plots in the dream season deserved to be axed, they were weak & took the drama away from Southfork & Ewing Oil.

If you were a true Dallas fan back then, you know that Bobby's death felt like someone in your own family had died. You felt numb and a little lost. That was the greatness of the writers. A lot of people put down this "dream season", but how else could he have returned as Bobby after dying/flatlining and not make it seem impossible. Remember, Patrick Duffy wanted out and they had to move on. He was gone a whole year, anything non-dream would have seemed illogical.
