The arm is very vulnerable! Even though it looks small, but if I draw it out it takes too much space...

The overall footprint of the unit is designed to take up minimal space when not in use and only slightly more space when being used. The arm and extension tray are very sturdy and reliable under normal working conditions. Even when you use it the extending input/output tray should not take up very much space allowing you to work on other matters while the unit performs the duplication work automatically.
