Take a Dip in a Mud Volcano; Volcan de Lodo, Colombia

About 50 kms outside Cartagena, Colombia there is an interesting geological feature along the coast called Volcan Lad. It is 15m mound of a mud volcano. Caused by the decaying of organic matter and time and pressure the thick dark mud oozes up out of the cone into a nearby lake, El Totumo. It's a rather strange experience. Get a massage for a few extra bucks.

@calichemorales The volcano is next to a large lake. You can easily wash off the mud. You can even hire someone to clean you. I elected to wash off my own mud. Enjoy your visit.
