  • The free market works, so long as Govt exists to defend the people from force and fraud. Ours doesn't. They exist to team up with megacorps to screw everyone. Under real Laissez-Faire, the Govt. would actually do so as opposed to the corporatism we have today. Remember, Auschwitz was a Public-Private Partnership.

  • Why do corporations exist? Has free market created them? How do they protect themselved from competition? Who do they lobby? Free market is what corporations fear the most. That´s why governments are for corporations, and why they spend millions on media and government´s plans to make you think that allowing people to be free to trade (free market) is evil.

  • The power belongs in the states... that is how it was designed but why is the feds causing so much problems? Easy, they cause them to start with

  • What i meant to say was.

America does not have a free-market, not even close... not by any definition.

The housing bubble was not caused by free-market, the health care issues are not caused by free market and poverty cannot be pointed at the free-market.

The Government has been intervening so much for the last few decades it's insane. how can anyone possibly call this a free-market issue?

Restore the free-market, before it's forced to restore itself...

  • What you are seeing in America right now is not the fault of the free-market.

The FED is the cancer of this whole problem, you need to regulate them, not yourselves!!!

Don't listen to dudes like Krugman if you're an investor. That advice is bad for you, and will hurt you ;-)

  • Well, you didn't really provide much of an argument, but i will leave you to your opinion.

Obviously some corporations are going to be irresponsible. They would not survive in a free-market, so long as the Government is ONLY used to uphold the "rule of law", not play favorites!

If you think increases in taxes, inflation and regulations are the solutions to these economic problems, then i suggest you re-open that history book of yours and read it again :-)

With all due respect, of course. :-)

  • Again, corporations have a proven history of irresponsibility. I will never support the naive belief that the free market will change that fact.

  • I hear your concern, and understand it.

Business is not perfect but hte argument is... bad businesses need to fail.

Bailouts, stimulus and all that other 'spending' does nothing for the economy, unless people are allowed to invest that money how they want.

Would you agree that abolishing the Income Tax would stimulate the Economy? do you think the IRS is really something the founders intended for America?

if you want to regulate something, i suggest you regulate the FED, not the Free Market

  • I like Ron Paul and I fully support much of what he has to say.

But, I have to hesitate when it comes to free market policy. Certainly, I can endorse free trade on a personal level, but, corporations, especially big corporations are not people and should not be treated as people. Big business has a proven history of irresponsibility.

I'm not saying the gov't is any solution. But, casting my fate to the corporate winds is not something I can ever support.
