'Chanakya' was a renowned Indian scholar and teacher to the Maurya Emperor Chandragupta. We bring you Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi's popular television series 'Chanakya', a 47-part Indian television historical drama that won the prestigious Uptron Awards in the year 1992. The series takes us through the life of Chanakya, his works - Chanakya Neeti and Arthasastra. His teachings on politics, economics and social welfare can be used even today in the modern world. The narration of the story has been kept simple to match up with the finest details that begin from the early life of Vishnugupta (Chanakya) in the kingdom of Magadha to the historic rebellion against Alexander under the leadership of Chandragupta Maurya and ends with the coronation of Chandragupta Maurya as the King of Magadha. The critically acclaimed show is definitely worth watching for its authentic costumes, artistic value and most importantly to strengthen our relationship with the Indian history. Episode Synopsis : Vishnugupta meets the boy Chandragupta and decides to become his teacher. In the grand conference Dhanananda ridicules all the students and graduates, referring to them as beggars. There is a heated converstaion between the two and Vishnugupta leaves the court insulted.

Chankya's story perfectly fits in today's indian political scenario. Maybe Subramanium Swamy should arise as a Chankya of current india.

this episode confused me,

1. Chanakya went for gyan sabha or to advice dhananand about Alexnder?

2. did Chanakya meet chandragupt after his insult or before as shown..??

in history books, things are written diffrently..

Nari ka gehna..."lazza"......rightly said ...but it is deteriorating in current indian scenario....women openly drinking and fagging...indecent exposure . ..western dresses ...disappearance of dupata...no need to do moral policing the women...but my sisters and mothers should decide now the future of their daughters....siksha should begin in school in the right way itself in begining....hence other than parents ...the modern day teachers in public schools d convent schools plus need to do a lot
