In celebration of the CSU's 50th anniversary, the video captures how the CSU prepares graduates who make a difference.
Graduate of CSU Dominguez Hills, Millage Peaks is the former fire chief for the City of Los Angeles.
Here are some highlights about Peaks:
*Commands the largest metropolitan fire department in the western United States, with 106 fire stations and over 3,600 sworn and professional staff.
*A 34-year veteran of the Los Angeles Fire Department and the second African American to head the department.
*Serves a population of over four million people throughout the 470 square miles of the city, including firefighting and rescue operations at Los Angeles International Airport, Van Nuys Airport and the Port of Los Angeles.
*Vision is to position the LAFD as the premier fire department of the 21st century.
