The Earths Magnetic shield took a pounding on 2-4-2009 .
The pounding was said to have originated from a Souther Coronal Hole on the Sun said to be from CH358 . ,It ha very low winds and high density

Because of the intensity and duration of the event it is unlikely the Sun was the source for this event

Solar wind speed ranged between 339 and 379 km/s
