from Mlle.Modiste, music by VICTOR HERBERT (1859-1924) Elizabeth Parcells Gilded Age concert in the Huron City Church 1998 http://www.elizabethparcells.com
What a fabulous performer and a supeb voice. Was shocked on having just found this that she died at such a young age. What a tragedy. I agree with gigilalapu - much less talented performers get far too much exposure! Does anyone know where I can get sheet music for this song. Would love to have a go.
hay, question to whoever posted this video, do you know why it wont let me skip around? whenever i click someplace on the red space with the moving circle it just goes back to the beginning
i really like this song, and its so seldomly sung, the only other recording of it ive encountered on youtube is an old record playing of Rosa Ponselle singing it, a LONG time ago. EP adds some nice adlib bravura to show off her range, low Ab up to high Eb, solid 2 and a half octaves. Ive heard recordings of her singing high E (in the bell song from Lakme), no F that i know of, though.
See, this is the problem. We see much less talented but much more famous opera singers for no obvious reason. She was a great coloratura, may she rest in peace.
Fantastic!

Really fantastic! Difficult song, I'm working on it now. She makes it sound so easy

Yes, Ms. Parcells did have an F. If you visit her memorial website, you'll find it under the link "singing".
It's the piece entitled "Non Paventar Amabil Figlio" or (O Zittre Nicht in German).
