I agree, the moongels are much more versatile than Rings. You can use one or more pieces and by putting them closer to the rim, there is less muffling. Move them toward the center of the drum you get more...nice. You can also find the exact spot on the drum that is ringing, and nix it, without overdoing it.

I have yet to hear anyone switch to zildjians because there cymbals were cracking... its ussually the other way around. Other than that nice little set up you have there.

actually the moon gels do the same thing as remo REM-O-S, those thin acrylic rings, i bought a set of moon gels and they are great. his tuning is just off i think.
