Thanks very much, although technically it's an archlute, not a theorbo. String length, tuning and doubled courses are the difference, which admittedly is only of interest and concern to lutenists!

Can you tell me what exactley the difference is between an archlute and a theorbo?
There is so much confusion on that subject.

My reply to you is blocked by utube because it contains a link to an online article. Google "Spencer" and "Archlute" and have a look at the first hit.
