These parents are wimps because they aren't beating their children? Wow, you people are sick.
-
seems like modern day discipline practice in place

IF I EVER TALKED TO MY PARENTS LIKE THAT I WOULDN'T BE SITTING DOWN FOR WHILE!!!!

wow those kids are brats

I know it's a sitcom, but if this is any indication what it was really like back then, parents were real wimpy back then.

I also think that true discipline includes spanking but not to the point of abuse. I think counting and time outs are for people who can't control their tempers or are for lower class families who have a hard time with children and aren't smart enough to know what to do. Actually, I think the counting is for the parents more than the kid getting in trouble. Nine times out of ten they probably don't know what they are going to do when they stop counting.

Yeah, this just looks like a couple of parents being played by their children.
True parental discipline includes spanking. This is not discipline.
