This is a supercharged 5hp briggs I've been working on for about a year. All the parts were made by me in my free time while attending Linn State Technical College in Linn, MO. Hope to have it fired up in a couple weeks. Hoping to put 5-6 pounds of boost to it. We are worried that the amount of drag the pump creates will overpower any performance gain in the motor. I've seen alot of fake supercharged briggs, but this is the real deal. We used a smog air pump off a 70's GM 350.

  • how much boost did you get because im thinking of doing this to a kabota d 722

  • @TommyGullo I had a pressure gauge on it and for the short time it ran, i saw 3-4psi of boost. I only had it running for a few minutes and never changed to the overdrive pulleys.

  • You need to post a video of it running

  • @outdoorsman1k

There's a short 40 second video of me trying to get it running on here. The theory works and is proven, i needed to use a different style carburetor than the diaphragm style tillotson. Went to a float style carb and eventually got it to run consistently. Unfortunately i don't have any videos of that.

  • who are you on the hamb?

  • lets see the thing run man ya caNT HAVE A video without the vroom

  • Dont let the ney sayers get to ya. They said the same crap before racing lawnmowers around a track @ 100mph was popular. These "engine builders" boasting 15hp builds lets you know right off the bat there clueless. Ive seen 50hp and better. Stick with it, that Linn Tech is a good school. I have a buddy that went through there auto program. Have you thought about mutiplying torque to the SC? Try using mutiple pullies or a mutiple gearset.

  • @TommyGullo just put a turbo on it man

  • How about great job ! Who cares if it really works, you tried and still are. Most of these "couch potatos" couldn't due half of what you have done. Keep trying you will get it.

  • macks no sence

  • so after all that work how much power you making? 15?

  • @ridinhonda4life i would not if i were you i had majour problems with the one i built it ran like crap and was all new parts/engine and would cost you at least 400 to get it running properley

  • what kinda supercharger u got? lookin for one to put on my mini chopper im building

  • i just started this simalar motor with simalar charger and works great and has 6 pounds of boost P.S. anybody that reads this whatever you do, DO NOT USE RUBBER HEATER HOSE

  • One more comment, USE A TWIN CYLINDER BRIGGS with that turbo next time (MUCH better results :-)
