Where I live people from the North are still referred to as "yankees". It makes me proud to separate myself from America as a whole. The United Kingdom should have decided to offer military aid. We'd be living in a better nation now as a result, I think.

@himmler251 That may have been the "first battle", but Fort Sumter is where it all started. .-. Abraham Lincoln just wanted to sent provisions (not reinforcements) to the fort so that they wouldn't starve, but North Carolina began firing upon the fort for. In other words, the South fired the first shot. If the North was the one that fired the first shot, then the slave border states would have seceded and join the South in its cause.
