Knitting into the front of a stitch, the back of the same stitch, and then into the front again. This turns 1 stitch into 3 stitches, increasing by two. I am aware that my hands are wrinkly. Please concentrate on the needles and yarn, kthx.

  • i am trying to follow this exact instruction but for some reason instead of ending up with 3 stitches i am ending up with 4!!! What am i doing wrong?

  • @ADHITI I'm not too sure what could be going wrong. If you're a tight knitter, sometimes the stitches can creep from back to front on the needles, so maybe one of them is doing that and making it look like there are 4 sts.

    You should be

    1. Knitting 1 st, leaving it on the needle, then

    2. knitting through the back of the same st, still leaving everything on the needle, then

    3. knitting through the front (again), then slipping the 3 sts off.

    I hope this helps!

  • Thank you for posting this. I'm a beginning knitter with a poor memory, and this is a VERY intimidating stitch if you're just looking at the written.

  • @Birdarrrow You're very welcome. I'm glad I can help :)

  • Thank you!

  • @ccrering You're very welcome. Sorry I'm so late with my response. I didn't realize I had comments on the video.

  • Thanks! :D

  • Thanks! This was great.

  • @nunquamamittolupus I think the Rogue Hoodie was the reason I posted this video to begin with - a friend online was making it. I *still* haven't knit that sweater. I keep meaning to, honest.

  • @somecooldude777 It was winter and I hadn't been drinking enough water. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  • @lifelike001 I'm glad it was helpful! I just wish I were as wise as my hands make me look ;-)
