I really like their drum circle style now, but nothing beats this era for utter madness. I saw them in LA about this time, and it was hands down the most exhilarating performance I've ever seen. Not a pretentious bone in their insane bodies. Seeing them in '96 in Osaka was a bit too much; the crowd was so crazy it was like watching a concert from inside a washing machine...

@tbone2872 I keep trying to explain this--ooooh, @ 2:48 or so one of my all time favorites--um, explain this in death metal circles. Just no reconciling. Angst Vs. Chaos. "Shaking your fist at Mickey Mouse" Vs. rebooting the Mouse's brain.

This is so funny. I can't beleive I ran accross this. Whenever someone asks me what was the loudest show I ever went to it was these guys at the 9:30 club in DC in 94. I've even seen Napalm Death, Carcass, Godflesh, and a few other death shows and none came as close as the intensity of the boredoms.

Yeah, they're TERRIBLE live now. I kind of get what they're going for, but when you listen to their older stuff and have seen this hilarity in person, it's just not the same anymore.

YES! No one rocks it like The Boredoms once did. Too bad they only play stoner drum-circle jams now.
NOTE: Check the punk/hip-hop cross-styling of the left vocalist in the Chicago section: baggy Black Flag t-shirt over hooded sweatshirt plus MC posturing!
