I was living in Greenland at the time - and this was a monster hit. For some strange reason they never made it to Greenland to do a concert. It would have been a great event. Still to this day I love the music.

I want to make a vid but do not speak that language (I'm Metis) and was wondering for those who speak it if you could provide me with key words in the song beyond "Our People". Both Claude Mckenzie and Florent Vollant released great new CDs this year - you can find them at archambault [dot] ca. I was lucky enough to see both of them perform in Mani-utenam (aka Maliotenam, the reserve where this video was filmed) just last weekend :-) There's video of Claude's fabulous show with Petapan on my channel, nikamuna09. There's also video of Florent Vollant at Innu Nikamu this summer. They're still making great music!
