My client Dawn is demonstrating the weighted lunge on the Smith Machine. This exercise is perfect for the glutes, quads, and hamstrings. This is an alternative to doing walking lunges with weights. Some people lose their balance on walking lunges. My friend and training partner Charles is spotting her for safety.

  • except using smith machine for squat or lunges is bad for your lower back. Straight up and down is not a natural movement

  • Thank you mister timmytimmyo, I guess ypou have alot of experience and knowledge. I bet you too have alot of World championships and you are on t.v. too and have trained many for over 35 years...... I'm 53 and still going strong.
