Fellow You Tuber John1948ElevenB sent me a song that he has just posted by Scotty McKay. Being my regular compulsive self, I now had to post some of Scotty's stuff with dat Nawlenz (New Orleans) flavor. So here goes and my apologies if I am stepping on your toes John. Just posting a few; the rest of his Ace recordings are tucked away in my closet.

Johnny Vincent of Ace Records got a hold of a Texan named Scotty McKay and because of the impact Vincents Ace Records had in New Orleans, McKay always showed up at WNOE's Semi-Annual All Star Show at the Municipal Auditorium and WTIX Day at the old Pontchartrain Beach. The band backing most acts at both venues was Mac Rebennacks. Scotty also could often be seen around town at various entertainment spots and of the Gulf Coast aka The New Orleans Riviera.

I suppose McKay could be considered an Honorary 9th Warder because of his strong Texas roots but I think he earned his stripes back in the 60s. Sadly, I see where he past away back in March of 1991.

This cut was released on Swan records just prior to McKays introduction on Ace Records. No doubt just by the sound, and Scotty being in spitting distance of Jackson, Mississippi, Vincent heard this and felt like Scotty was a perfect fit for his label.
