the Bloods of Nam was reported, written and narrated by Wallace terry. he talks with black veterans who fought discrimination in Vietnam and later confronted rejection and disillusionment when they returned home.
at Nha Trang AB July 1969; white airman were told to walk in GROUPS; because of attacks bye blacks on whites; I volunteered for Vietnam to serve my country; but late in 1969; I never saw so much racial hatred as blacks had for white on my duty station.
@cajunhornet60 didn't you see a redneck with a confederate flag in the video? and a soildier say that cross was burned in front of his hut? stop making shit up! if anyone was discriminated against, it was black soildiers. they only comprised 12% of the troops but 20% of the overall deaths? what the fuck does that tell you? that they were PURPOSELY put on the front lines. with this country's disgusting history on race, no person of color should EVER defend america in a foreign war.
...in other words... they did NOT try to be heroes... they just had to kick ass and kick some more ass... simple ...and they also had to have eyes on the back of their heads... because crackers could never be trusted... even today...
...and ...a for a lot of them... when they came back... some had to reenlist... because Americans were turning soft... and also... it's was hard for them to be 2nd class citizens again... ha?!
i had this recorded on a beta tape back in the mid 80's but have been looking for a vhs or bettre yet even a dvd of this show. i found it to be very fascinating and certainly a shadow of what was happening back home in the states with the cival rights movement in full swing
white troops in 1969 were afraid to be caught alone (especially at night); I never saw so much racial hated in my life as the black troops had for the whites. The black troops would salute the white officers with the black fist; in the mess hall white troops had food thrown on them bye the black mess hall attendants..
could you upload the rest please
