Observer/Subject. I find it useful to think of patterns in terms of business relationships.
How does this relationship work?
Suppose you, me, our neighbors are subscribed to Time Warner, we are observers; Time Warner would be the subject. Time Warner keeps a list of subscribed observers and constantly sends us subject material.
You could expand the pattern; implement behavioral states (more channels), overload your observers with extra features (dvr equipment) etc...
