So...using a renewable, replenishable, and all natural process of FARMING puts a strain on the environment.
Farming. Which is the reason we no longer live in caves and hunt with sticks.
Farming. Which is the reason we are actually able to even FEED our populous.
Farming. Fucking FARMING is now an environmental concern?
Yeah, uh, sorry there lady. Not buying into that one.

The bad thing I see would be cannibalism.

R2D2 - I propose that from now on humans should be grown in vitro, for special purposes... they won't be humans, nor would they have soul, but would reduce the efforts of the living humans... I just lost my connection with all the evolution of animals, for millions of years, our roots will be "manufactured industrially in vitro". Great. Just Great.

what people dont realize, this technology can easily be protected under intelectual copyright laws. Creating a monopoly or a giant single corporation controlling the meat suply.
If this goes on, Labs would buy politicians to make illegal the practice of eating actual animals. And then, a illegal market of food will rise.
This may be the future, but it will not solve all our problems.
