  • @yesshows100 Yeah that was awesome. I think, Tony's Keyboards were at their best in 1978. Just listen to Squonk or Los Endos. The Keyboards were fitting alot better to the tour.

And I've got the LA Forum 82 Bootleg as well. I think, Bruford did pretty well. I think he still likes Genesis, maybe he wanted to stay after the trick tour?

  • @illegalalien2

I also have The Fountain of Salmacis from Knebworth 1978 on CD. The Bootleg is called Super Golden radio shows Number 034. Phils voice and Tony's many keyboards in 1978 were total pandamonium. I was at the L.A Forum in Los Angeles 8/9/82, when Bill Bruford played for part of the encore. Watcher of The Skies (closing section) / I know what I like.

  • @yesshows100 Well, I have already posted the Knebworth Version from Fountain of Salmacis... It thought to post I know What I like, since peter gabriel joined the band at that gig :-)

And yes, its really amazing :)

  • @illegalalien2

I listened to that Ripples you posted from MSG 1978. It's amazing!!! From 1978 I have audio, Knebworth 6/24/78 and audio Chicago 10/13/78. The Japan 1978 footage without the mirrrors is on youtube. You should post The Fountain Of Salmacis, MSG 1978

  • @yesshows100 I know what you mean. Go on my Youtube Channel, I have uploaded a Live Version of Ripples from their 78er Tour... The New Yorker Audience liked it, seemed to be an awesome croud :)

I have to say that I like the 78er Version most, but mostly because of the emotions I get. Daryl was new at this time and on In the Cage, he played a whole lot different, but on Ripples, the whole Audience celebrated Daryl... How I wish I was there :(

  • @yellowcow13

If you mean the full version, the studio version or any live version from 1978 or 1980 is complete with the full middle instrumental section. On this 2007 version they cut it short. Just a pathetic effort!

  • @illegalalien2

The instrumental part of Ripples at Knebowrth 1978 in front of 60,000 was the best!

  • @yesshows100 If you can show me this version id appreciate it. Im newish to Genesis.

  • @SPeacock dude...not even close...they altered it,it's ok,but ok is not good for a band like Genesis !

  • Yeah for sure, its not the complete Instrumentalpart, but isn't that better than NOT playing Ripples? 10 Minutes like on the Album would have been too much time for a STADIUM audience. There are always songs that are working better in halls than in stadiums... And I have to say that Cinema is one of them.At least the Full Version.

The instrumental part of Ripples would lose its intimate mood in front of over 100.000 people i think. And its sstill a better choice than In too deep :D
