Formula Car Challenge at Thunderhill Raceway, April 24-25, 2010

Formula Car Challenge race at Thunderhill. Qualified on pole on the first day, but off-pole had a better start for the race. Unfortunately, a mechanical failure with one of the front brake calipers put him out of the race early on. I held first for most all the race, but lost it in the final turn of the last lap and finished in third. On the second day, I missed pole position by 0.006 of a second. I also lost a few more positions at the start of the race. I gained one spot back after the car ahead had a strut that held the rear wing up break, causing him to lose most all rear grip in turn 8. I then gained another position back midway through the race on the main straightaway. I chased down first for the remainder of the race, not quite able to make a pass.

Great job, I enjoyed watching your video. Which organization are you racing with? I see there was an Elan Mazda Pro Series in the video too. Does the organization allow all winged formula cars (like my Formula 3 Renault 2.0) or just Formula Mazda?

Our series in particular includes the Standard Formula Mazda which I drove, the newest generation Pro Formula Mazda, and World Speed's new FormulaSpeed 2.0. you can check out information at their website
