  • I think the Hill District busybodies should quit complaining and thank god that someone, anyone, has actually decided to build there in the first place. There are plenty of other better places in put an arena. To ask them to force certain residents get jobs simply cause they live there is ludicrous.. but its what you get after 60+ years of Democratic Party policies- handout requests.

  • Wow. I would really like to do an interview with you. Very curious to see where you think the arena could have gone, where are you from and have you talked with anyone in the community at all. There is still an unsaid disconnect between policy and the people affected. Please get in touch with me ASAP. Best.

  • Thanks Dajusta but think it over more before commenting. This is raw footage with a big blunder. Don't worry you will see Ravenstahl have his moments as does many others. There are no heroes here, just people being real and trying their best. Please contact me so we can get your voice heard.

  • @hyperboymedia you ever get that interview from joe the plumber up there ? LOL

  • the people in Pittsburgh should elect a tree. Slap a suit on it and your done. At least when something happens, it will always be there, not drinking in New York, or hanging with the Steelers, or drinking at a golf resort, or going to a concert, running around in his private limo picking chicks out of the crowd. Yelling in a drunkin tone"I'm the mayor of Pittsburgh, wanna ride me, I mean, wanna ride?"

  • I grew up on The Hill and it was pretty bad. I hope that the kids that grow up there now have it better than us.

  • He supports "the concept of a grocery store."

He does not support cash payments to any organizations in the Hill district.

Chris, I disagree a little with your summary. This was not just "a bad choice of one word." There was a lot he said that brought hard questions, and he meant every one of them.

  • I put in Chris Gamble, who is a professional football player with the Carolina Panthers and who played college ball at Ohio State and this is one of the entries. Go figure.

  • Anytime, give me a number to call.

  • I regret that our comments here are focused on attacking each other rather that the insulting and neglectful attitude Ravenstahl has shown toward the Hill and other neighborhoods. Our comments also fail to touch on the insidious ways corporate welfare is influencing public decision-making about the allocation of public resources. I also am sorry that my comments were hurtful to Marimba personally.

  • Marimba, through her professional, personal and service work has been empowering and engaging so-called "street people" for years but her comments are well-understood within the context of what the Mayor said about "cash payments to any Hill District organization". That was so disrespectful. You cannot snapshot somebody's life just because you disagree with their present position. And there are no "street people" working in One Hill, so that's somewhat disingenuous here.
