Astronaut Mike Fossum (KF5AQG) talking via ham radio from the International Space Station to grades 7-9 students at the Institute for Space Science, Exploration, and Technology in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am picking up the signal from Southern Idaho, over 550 miles from the space station. I was able to capture 11 answers to questions over 7 minutes. Not bad for a standard mobile radio set-up and only a 21 degree high ISS pass.
