@Childist2 There certainly are differences although putting your finger on exactly what they are is difficult. British commercials have bitter notes and subtlety and irony. Have you seen the "Charley says" ads? They're the best. I'm not sure if simple ads just don't work in Britain or just that the industry thinks you have to have some depth and humour in them. We are getting a lot more worldwide brand ads these days that just don't seem to have any edge to them, all over-sweet and bland.
@MartinJWillett It's just that it makes life in Britain look all dystopian and weird and its just so different from American commercials... I like watching British commercials on Youtube. I especially like the PIFs that shock people into not going into substations or onto roads... nothing like that here in America.
