Great video by a man I greatly respect. His book with Col. Hal Moore is one of my favorite Nam reads. The movie is the only Nam movie I liked and played it like it was. Bravery, dedication, brotherhood and none of the other crap seen in many others. As a Grunt in D 1/20 Infantry I too stop when I hear the whoop of rotors and think of the guys that always came to our aid and comfort. God bless Aviation and what it means to Grunts. Wolfie

Fantastic. I was 1st Cavalry 5/7 1968 - 1969. This brings back the memory. I feel so much gratitude for the chopper pilots and gunners..... without them, so many of us would not be able to watch this.

@BSteinIPMS I was with the 560th MP Co 'Roadrunners' in Pleiku '72. There was an Air Cav unit at Camp Hollaway then. One gungho bunch for sure! Thanks for your service & welcome home, brother.

Proud to be the son of a US Army Aviator. (Rattlers, Bien Hoa, 1965-66)
To all my Vietnam Veterans, Thank you for your Service to our Nation & WELCOME HOME,

@PatFries
Pat, thanks for producing "In The Shadow Of The Blade." My wife and I first saw it at the Boeing Flight Museum and believe we met you there!

This video and photo presentation gets two thumbs up. Very touching, well done. I flew C-model gunships with A Troop 7/17 and formed up at Ft. Knox with 3/17 in 1967. The 7th went to Camp Enari in Pleiku where we had many adventures, including operations in and around the Ia Drang Valley. Not a hero, but if anyone is interested in what helicopter pilots did day in and day out, there's an inexpensive

Thanks for serving. The squadrons from the 17th Cav are still very active today and have been deployed both in Iraq & Afghanistan. The 3-17th is currently in Afghanistan. May they all come home safe & sound to their families.
