A quick test of a Static COD4 model that I used Blender to add bones to the Main and tail rotors so that I could simulate the spin. I might add a few more bones to pivot and elevate the gun and rotate the senor array.
The Blender SMD Add-On has a weird method of applying bones to TF models, a lot of trial and error here. I couldn't get it to work using the SFM engine and had to export using the Source 2009 target engine to get them even close to where they had to be. The apache movement has to be refined (it was a quick test) and I made the Binocular overlay using Gimp.
