@stickmister321 several reasons .. it just fascinates my i guess that it is possible to do this (ie trick your eye into seeing something that isn't there). But also the desire to create something beautiful or moving (at least try) and the fact that it is difficult is also nice..

I would love to know why you do paint? Just for the reason you enjoy art? I never understood that, painting takes such a long time to perform, even tho it feels like a moment, but I really would like to know what drives you thru instead of feeling not to do it.

Hi Jos , would it be possible to see the rotating plate you attached to the easel described above ?

@yellowdaffs19 hi, I don't have it any more because I wanted to modify it. But so far i didn't get round to it... The plate was attatched to the easel with a screw in the middle. (I clamped a block of mdf to the center bar of the easel to put the scews in). There were 2 long slots in the plate over the entire height. I attatched 2 vertical beams to the plate, each with a screw through each slot. The beams could be moved up and down by loosening the screws...

why start out with a gold color if you just going to paint over it, does it change the color of the red?
tombproduct 7 months ago
@tombproduct no, the brown/gold color is just a sketch. I use transparent oxide red and ultramarine dark for this, because these are transparent colors and can be painted over easily. The purpouse of the sketch is just to try out where the object has to go, without using colors that are more difficult to paint over or remove (like an opaque red maybe)..
