@oliasdoug I've been thinking about this & I don't actually think it was stage fright at all. The poor guy was on tranquilisers for anxiety , and got the most awful rebound panic attacks when the adrenaline kicked in on stage. Far from being nervous of performing, I think he was born to perform..... but through a combination of business- and-medical mismanagement found himself well and truly burned out before 30. Thankfully he carried on creating though.

WOW...first time I've seen this. You'd never know from viewing it that Andy apparently had terrible stage fright. Amazing how their sound evolved from here to the SKYLARKING and ORANGES AND LEMONS days.

The only time I ever saw them live must have been on this tour in 1980 - Rotter's nightclub in Doncaster. They were two hours late coming on stage and they opened with this. This could well have been that night; one of the best live gigs I've seen before or since, absolutely brilliant band.
