Hey Rich, Scooey told me about your new vids. YT never lists them in my subs for some odd reason. This is really special!! The custom cabinet is really awesome!!! Really love the speakers too! Very pretty. I'll keep my eye peeled for an adaptor for ya!!! Thanks for sharing!

@Vinylrecordsneverdie Less expensive magnetic cartridges can damage styrene records & in addition to the cartridge it also depends on the quality of the tonearm, & how it is set up. Quality tonearms require proper setup and installing for precise tracking with no wear to delicate record grooves, especially the last 2 bands on a record that are more compressed, and subject to more mis-tracking causing inner groove damage, which sounds like static after piano notes.

usually the Garrard changers had the model number on the speed plate. This one being KLH I guess they didnt, but I have seen that style of changer just under the Garrard name. I think if you could find a listing on ebay with the similar tonearm design you would then know the Garrard changer model number and could find the 45 adaptor. I know their adaptors fit several different changer models.

@grassulo all those styli should fit the same cart. body, I always say if it fits, if it sounds ok, use it!

@Vinylrecordsneverdie Not all magnetics are built the same.. and I used to PLAY my records a LOT!! lol, I had a bunch of crappy sure cartridges thru the 80's that would slowly make all the styrene's hiss, just like this pickering.. none of these cartridges could handle an "s" without heavily mistracking.. once you get into higher end cartridges it's hard to stop..

Those KLHs look cool to have along w/ the matching speakers.

@CrisVangel1958 I still find it unusual for magnetic phono to eat up styrene due to their featherlight tracking. Never had that experience though.

@ChrisVangel I want to make this into a 78 only deck, something a bit less harmful and better sounding than my school phono.

@ChrisVangel I have one of those pickering carts, the kind with the slide on 1/2 inch mount adaptor, cart works. I've been looking for a 3 mil stylus for it so I can mount it to a 1980s BSR "high end" auto deck that's had the auto disabled (it'd jack on the stylus oddly before it tripped, didn't like that so I disabled that!) Is the stylus for this similar to the stanton 500 broadcast cart or pickering V15? Right now its got a D7E stylus.
Very nice machine! The only thing I don't like about those set ups, they give lots of bass but very little highs, and those pickering cartridges sound hollow to me, I'd advise you not to play styrene records on there as they wear out rather quickly.. I grew up with that cartridge.. and wore out many a styrene record on it! It's really cool looking though!! You have such treasures, you could open a museum of record players (I would want to come!!)

@CrisVangel1958 Thanks Cris. I won't play anything good on it for sure. You would have free admission!!
