Colorado Green Party Co-Chair Claire Ryder talks about local Green Party candidates and clears up facts surrounding the decision not to support a Denver anti-war group known as Recreate '68.

Recreate '68 wants the vision and dream that the people attempted to bring to the DNC in 1968 to manifest in Colorado in 2008. The people of the protest were non-violent, but it was the police that sponsored the ensuing riots. Recreate '68 advocates a peace platform, and since the Democrats supports a war platform, Recreate 68' calls for a People's National Convention.

Many Coloradans, particularly local grassroots and peace organizations, have walked away from the group questioning authoritarian group structure and commitment to non-violence.

What we all must remember is the present wars and torture committed by our government is supported and funded by the corporate controlled two-party system, and it is they we need to unite against to bring back power to the people.

Alternative parties and individuals offer a remedy to this two headed corporate / special interest controlled beast.

Vote your conscience this fall, vote your hopes, vote your dreams. Stop being a slave to the fallacy of voting for the lesser of two evils, which ultimately, is still evil.

Green Party Ten Key Values:

1. GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY
2. SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
3. ECOLOGICAL WISDOM
4. NON-VIOLENCE
5. DECENTRALIZATION
6. COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMICS AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE
7. FEMINISM AND GENDER EQUITY
8. RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY
9. PERSONAL AND GLOBAL RESPONSIBILITY
10. FUTURE FOCUS AND SUSTAINABILITY

  • "anybody that wants to hear our message and um see what the Green Party of Colorado is all about and the Green Party in general.. "

Also anyone brought here by your b.s. spam tags...

You may not see a lot of difference between the Dems and the Republicans but I see a lot of difference between the Greens - who helped throw the 2000 election to Bush - and the Working Families Party a small party that is working to reinstate fusion voting rather than relishing their role as monkeywrench.

  • Your referring to Ralph Nader campaign in 2000. Ralph earned the votes he got, and those too afraid to voted for the evil of lessers. Because of this fear, the Green Party did not get the five percent they needed ( which would have institutionalized the party as well as gave them millions in dollars for the next election ).

Gore did not win his home-state of Tennessee; that cost him his election. He could not win his home state?

  • What's wrong with that picture; he couldn't even win Bill's state, Arkansas. And don't forget, he won! He just didn't have the backbone to fight for his votes. Pathetic.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a candidate that was right the first time, like Cynthia McKinney?

As for the WFP, I don't know much about them, but they seem like a good party. Most alternative parties should unite to fight the corporate dominated two party political oligarchy.

  • When we see a Green, or Independent, or Working Families Party, or Libertarian, we should unite, for now, and vote for our candidates. Of course, always vote for the best candidate, but if you do happen to party vote, vote alternative.

Those spam tags are accurate to my channel, but not necessarily each video.

  • I feel you have ego problems; you should look into Eckhart Tolle. He might be able to help you with being more in the now, and maybe shed what he calls painbodies.

    Good luck, and peace.

  • I guess as a party that never actually wins any offices (partisan one's - there's really no point in a political party touting their memberships election to non-partisan offices) you are for whatever you say you are. Everything wonderful and happy and green.. Don't worry though I'm sure nobody in their right mind will accuse you of having any effect whatsoever on this years Presidential election - you will be treated with the respect your level of public support justifies - you will be ignored.

  • There is a green party?

  • Read that Recreate68 was actually set up by Denver Law enforcement.

This group will turn violent later so the police have more of an excuse to crack down on the REAL protest movemnet.

Also those 4 rednecks that where arrested for "plotting" to kill Obama will also be used as an excuse to increase security.

  • If the Green Party was abusing their authority, taking their constituents for granted, funding wars and the military industrial complex, supporting corporations and imperialism, then by all means the Democrats and Republicans should protest.

  • Maybe when the Green Party has a meeting the ENTIRE DNC and RNC should hold protests outside. I am greatly offended by her lack of evolution.
