Man, please, play in front of the camera next time. :P You are the only one that show how to play that tune like the Dubliners. I've search all over the internet and there is not a single score for that version. But thanks anyway, i'm learning it slowly, it's painful, but i'm learning it.

@skerins42 Why woud he tune it like a guitar? He's playing an Irish Tenor Banjo so the standard tuning on that would be (from lowest to highest) cdga, the same tuning as a viola. BUT since he's playing a version based on Barneys inerpretation, its probably using the same tuning Barney used, which was (lowest to highest) Gdae. Long live McKenna

Unless he's using an odd tuning, it's EADG

thanks mate ... i'm a guitar player expanding his range by learning some tunes to flatpick ... I dont read music so picking up session standards is a lot easier with the help of folk like your self

What is the tuning? Is there a standard tenor banjo tuning and if so is this it?

Fan-phreakin'-tastic mate Could ou please tell me the tunings of the strings starting from the bottom. Is it standard tenor bano tuning, if there is such a thing? I like the nuances you do the little flat notes, just like Barney Beautiful song, all it needs is a little guitar accompaniment.. Thats what I play, but Ive been thinking of getting a banjo cuz they sound so....goddamned great.. Thanks for this video man, really appreciate it!
do you have tabs for this?
