The late Buckeye legend houses one early in the third quarter right as #1 Ohio State was getting its rout on for #10 Purdue. Suffice to say: Larry Zelina was not impressed with Purdue's special teams.
Fun fact about Zelina: he was one of the Super Sophs, averaged an amazing 12.5 yard per touch and held the average yards per punt return mark for Ohio State before Ted Ginn broke it.
RIP, Larry Zelina. http://www.dispatch.com/live/contentbe/dispatch/2005/03/31/20050331-D3-01.html
Tim Dwight of Iowa reminded me so much of Larry, Larry would have another nice Punt return the following week of 37 yards that set up Ohio State's first TD in the 1969 OSU/Michigan game. Also, Larry lead the nation in punt return average in 1969. RIP Larry Zelina
