I remember as a child, whilst somewhere in the UK, I walked past a Cathedral, and heard this being played, accompanied by a boys choir.....I had never heard anything so beautiful..much to my mothers annoyance, I was drawn to the entrance of the Cathedral, listening intently, glued to the spot until the piece was finished....to this day, 40 years later, music has always been my first love :)

Ein ganz schones Orgel in eine ganz schone Kirche. Ich habe das Orgel voor Jahre gesehen und auch gehort. Viel Vergnugen mit diese Aufnahme.

While I agree with mrMYSTERIUM that the Walcha recording is excellent....................f
or me it's Rogg and this beautiful instrument that wins the day.......(Quoting from Rogg's notes that come with the box set) This Silbermann was built in 1761 by Johann Silbermann-(nephew of Gottfried). Having suffered in the 19th century from changes(in taste!!)The instrument was fully restored in the 20th century(1959-1962) by the Metzler organ company(Zurich).
The beauty of tone is apparent.

The part that starts at 4:02 ... wow. I can listen to this piece on repeat for a couple hours. So much emotion. I have learned to hear all the overtones and the full range of the organ at once with all the notes and I place them in my head to get a clear picture of what I hear... this piece has been with me for a long time and it only gets better with age (and I am but 22)
I want to memorize it so well that i can hear it any time in my head ... half way there : D
