Hugo Chavez Speech with English Translation(Feb. 15th, 2009)

This is a long excerpt of Hugo Chavez's victory speech after Venezuelans approved the constitutional amendment which will permit him to be re-elected, thus changing the course of history, and establishing a new one. Given that Hugo Chavez is very popular throughout the world, while at the same time he is demonized by the American government and American media outlets, this video serves the purpose of allowing English speaking people to form a better criteria by which to judge him.

Barack Obama has referred to Hugo Chavez as "a destructive force" in Latin America. An "impediment to progress" in Latin America. He has referred to Venezuela as a "rogue" state. American media outlets and the BBC often refer to him as "anti-American."

This is an accurate translation of the words of a great humanist and an effective challenger to Anglo-saxon hegemony.
