It's funny cause these people that are criticizing the A10 don't know anything about how the military works. you use a certain tool for a certain job, an A10 generally should never come in contact of ANYTHING but infantry and armor, which is what it is designed for, and does an amazing job of destroying.

@cobrachoppergirl war is not a perfect thing, what would you rather let the bad guys win or poison the land, the DU rounds are more for Anti-tank warfare, im pretty sure they wouldn't always use that type of ammo if they had the choice, but again back to my choice, let the bad guys win or SLIGHTLY poison the surrounding area, the amount of DU in the bullet itself is quite minimal and is less dangerous compared to other metals that do the same job eg hps.org /publicinformation /ate /q 746.html

@Soulrogue1994 We know more about the A-10 than you think. It spews irretreivable depleted uranium radioactive crap and dust all over the land, that will persist for thousands of years. Radiation poisoning and cancer. Short of a nuclear bomb, there is no more inhumanly irresponsible and retarded weapon than the A-10 spewing radioactive waste all over the battlefield today, which may be a farm, town, city, or playground tomarrow.. that shit ends up in your lungs, in your food.

One stat I'd love to know (as compared to the -16, -15, and -18 ... raptor not included because it hasn't been in service long enough) ...

How many times has an A-10 been taken down, either by enemy fire or by sheer failure???

I talked to a Warthog pilot back in 1979 at R.A.F. Chicksands and he said with it's armor, manuverability, and firepower he would swap shots with any thing in the air.

@fable2omg i don't see how that's relevant to my comment but i don't know anything about Russian planes, except that in some peoples opinions that all russian plains are bad, i don't really agree but i'll leave it at that.
