A TSPD internal affairs investigation cleared Officer Brian Switala (357), Officer Steven Venezia (352) and Cpl. Steve Gassen (286) of any wrongdoing. This is a slap in the face to the principles upon which this country was founded.

Good job guys, the fact that they call for retraining means that the situation was not properly handled by the officers. In reading all the links you posted, it is apparent that these are not honest officers and are disgracing officers everywhere. For instance, Gassen was suspended in 2006 for distribution of controlled substance - astounding!

@MrJames6060, The charges were dropped by the DA and now the whole Tarpon Springs Police department is receiving additional training on how to handle such encounters. Even though the department won't admit it, this smells a lot like a big steamy pile of uneducated cop fail.

There are now mobile app's that download your video directly to an online storage server....{like the old Flickr for pictures}... It is instantly streamed in real time as you video record so the police can arrest and confiscate all they want..the video evidence is safely stored out of their reach online ..... Record all interactions with Police and you will win in court 99.9 percent of the time because the police habitually violate rights and knowingly cite false law like this guy did...

God I hate when cops abuse their power... I'll support the cops when then beat up arrest-resisting jerks but when you approach PEACEFUL citizens to harass them then the cops LOSE ALL my support. The result of seizing videos as evidence is that cops can't be filmed on duty which is a VIOLATION of our civil rights to assemble peacefully...
