If you are losing coolant on your 6.0 Powerstroke and are not sure where or if you are not sure whether you have blown head gaskets or a bad egr cooler, here is one way you may be able to tell. This is not always 100%, but is usually a really good indicator.

  • @gtzrg replace the head bolts with ARP head studs

  • dont put in new egr coolers in they are around 1 000 dollars tell them to plug it it wont cause anymore proplems its just a environmental thing

  • @MrLmilian hi i"ve got an f-350 with the 6.0 a mechanic was supposed to put a new egr cooler in last year but its leaking again!! i think he put in a used one, what does stud the heads mean?? thanks

  • @MrLmilian disposable engine for a disposable society

  • Thanks to the faries in california we got the 6.0l which is not as bad as the 6.4l. Thanks to all the tree huggers out there for getting rid of the 7.3l. Dumb asses well at least us techs get work all the time. Do the egr delete and stud the heads and there will be no more problems

  • Go with the cooler delete itll save you tons if you don't ONLY RUN ROTELLA T AND CHANGE EVERY AND I MEAN EVERY 3k

  • The only way to fix the cooler issue is delete the cooler wish they woulda stuck with the 7.3 instead of the 6.0 powerjoke

  • How much would it coast to delete the egr, labor and all

  • @wordninja u need to buy and edge insight monitering guage. just plug it in ur ecm and it'll read off of all the sensors, eot, ect, trans, etc. if ur eot and ect are over 15* apart then ur oil cooler is starting to get clogged...

  • Thanks, I'm paranoid about this common problem and always on the lookout for any telltale signs so I don't wind up needing EGR, oil cooler and head gaskets all at once.
