Homebrew Superheterodyne 80m Ham Radio receiver featuring hand-wound I.F. and BFO coils. An excellent learning tool, fashioned after the 1932 QST radio of the Great Depression era. It actually performs quite well! This radio is featured in the Lindsay Radio Experimenter series Volume 5.

  • This is very interesting. I can see myself in 2 to 3 photos of this machine for winding wires? texnocentr88@mail.ru

    Thank you.

  • That is a good sounding radio, Great job building it too! It says alot when you take the time to wind your own coils. This is what ham radio is about! 73s KC8YLT.

  • nice job. very well made 73s

  • Very nice radio. I've been meaning to try out one or two of those designs in the Lindsay books. Where did you get the coil forms?

  • Great video! I did get my Novice when I was 9, and am almost 60 now. My first Transmitter was a 50C5 tube with a 50 volt fil voltage and a regen receiver " Band Spanner". So seeing that there are other people like me that still build things is great. 73s OM! Jimmy, ARRL TS, WX9DX

  • are you located in area that has no interferance and how do you keep the noise out.

  • Lovely workmanship!
