The last remaining 1920 Packard Model G 7-1/2 Ton Truck goes for a spin in 2009. 430 cubic inch, 4 cylinder engine. Top speed: 22 mph. Built by Packard Motor Car Company in Detroit.
@Kagaines He's still in a fairly low gear. I would guess that this truck would top out around 25 to 35 mph. I've been told that when this truck and similar open cab trucks were new, there was a gentleman's rule between truck manufacturers that solid tired trucks would go no faster than 18 mph, and pneumatic tired trucks could go faster, around 30 mph.
This Truck belonged ones to Don Letson who restored the Truck! He's driving this "beast"!
I saw this Truck back in '06 and was impressed!

Not much (if) faster than a horse; but it didn't have to be cleaned up after. xD
It's a beauty! :))
Thank you for sharing. :))
