I would rule not-guilty and even award costs to Avril. The real catchline Hey (hey) You (you) is from the Stones, the sentiment "I wanna be your xxxxfriend" is hardly an original thought, and every bit of the rest of the song is entirely different, both musically and lyrically.

Avril's song girlfriend is the most fucked up song I've ever heard, who cares if she stole it? it really sucks, the text, the melody, the video... It's ike it's written by a 8 year old girl! And besides, the meaning of the song? If you want a guy, just steal him? yeah, there's a grown up moral for you
