Originally i wanted to do a run without helper robots, but that was to hard, so i deciced to do one without ever losing health or getting hit.
Thats also the reason why i stay so long at the big metalballs, cause when you attack them right away they hurl you around, smash you into walls and you lose health.

STRIDER!!

This was such an innovative platformer back then.

Loved the Mega Drive version which Sega got really very close to the arcade.

Btw, anyone looking for a Strider-like game should check out MOON DIVER on PS3/PSN.

It's from the same creator and while not the same still has the typical Strider trademarks.

It's best enjoyed online with up to 4 players. Crazy fun! :)

Yeah, I wondered why too. I've got the arcade PCB and it doesn't repeat the music. I thought it was just the ROMset used in Mame, but maybe not. Bit shoddy if Capcom didn't bother to sort it for their home releases.

As much as I love Street Fighter and Final Fight, it would have been awesome to see what sorts of games Capcom might have done if Strider had become their most popular franchise.

To beat this game without losing health deserves some kind of recognition. AMAZING!!

After clearing stage 2, the music from the first stage appears and then it plays all throughout stage 3. Then the same thing happens after clearing stage 4 and plays all throughout stage 5. I notice that the Playstation version does the same thing and so does the Capcom remix collection for the PSP. The actual arcade game didn't do that. The actual arcade game had all the tracks that you hear in the Genesis version. Is this just a poor MAME error that Capcom also ripped in their compilations?
