I have to agree with MCP2012 Polar bears do not live in the Antarctic, the meaning of the words are 'artik' in greek meaning bear. But Ant, or antiartik or Antarctica means no bears at all. So he is right about the Polar bears not being indigenous to Antarctica. Not a wise thing to do to include pictures of animals that don't belong there. As for endangered, it is not a good idea to bring the polar bear to that continent. One species can ruin another.

Vangelis, quite possibly the greatest keyboard composure on the planet. His sounds of haunting music reaches the deepest parts of the mind where one can sit back and close their eyes and imagine another place or time. His best works include Blade runner, Bounty, Antarctica, and his most famous, Chariots of Fire. Which won him an oscar for best soundtrack. I can never tire of this man's creative talents. Bringing us more of his chilling and most times warm music. Excellent music.

With all due respect, POLAR BEARS r indigenous ONLY to the ARCTIC, most emphatically NOT to the *ANT*ARCTIC!! And, as much as I'm concerned with the melting of their habitat, relocating a breeding population to *ANT*ARCTICA would be an ecological disaster, or, at the very least, as destablization of the South Polar ecosystem. We'd probably see a mass-kill-off multiple-extinction event(s) were such an introduction to occur!!
Superb selection of pictures, editing and sequencing. Especially like the historical images and use of M/S Explorer to add interest showing modern peril. Sorry. Have no use for Scott. Amundsen was our boyhood hero. He played the Antarctic as an equal, paid attention to detail, made common sense choices and survived. Liam Jumper

Excellent and knowledgeable comments, Liam - appreciated!!! Scott lived in arrogant times when the (I avoid 'we') English thought they (still avoiding) owned the planet, don't apologise!!!
Kindest regards, Mike......

I'd say it's quite good. I own the Polar Shift cd, and this is my favorite track from it. Also, my cousin was a research scientist down there for a couple years.
