Canon HF S10 / S100 first test, day & night (Watch in "HD"!!!)

This clip was made to those whos considering to by this particular camera. Ive got it couple of weeks ago and I really like the quality of image that camera delivers. Original AVCHD format gives incredibly reach colors but I couldnt post that original mts file here (Ive tried but youtube after conversion couldnt display it properly). So, Ive edited those mts files in Sony Vegas Pro 9 (very basic editing - cutting only) and saved result as wmv file. As result output video has not so rich and vibrant colors as original mts files, but still its very good (as you can see). Ive also tried to save output file in AVI format, it looked exactly the same as original mts file. But when I posted it, youtube added a letterbox to the frame (I didnt like it). I just removed that clip in AVI format before anyone could see it. Still if someone wants to see original colors, I can upload same clip (bit shorter, it doesnt fit into 1Gb) in AVI format. Just last note to those who decided to buy this camera: its more complicated to edit AVCHD format.

Does converting the cli from its original mts file change the quality dramatically and ruin the HD?

how to do convert the file after editing with sony vegas I tryed to edit one of my videos and it is just some wird veg. file

You will get veg. file if you try to save PROJECT! If you want to save ready to use video you need to select "render" instead, then try to select in "Save as type:" window "Windows media Video V11" in "template" window select something between 5 Mbps to 6.7 Mbps. Read "Help" in Vegas.

@antichristSvperstar9 Thanks. Sorry man I don't know Mac, but I think 4-5 year old could be not powerful enough. It also depends on what software will you use. Best thing is to get short raw file and to try it! Go to the shop, do a test shoot, get the file on flash stick and try it.

Hi! Great video dude! I have a question... I have a Mac OS X 10.5.8 (it is 4 or 5 years old) and I want to edit some videos recorded with Canon Legria HF S10 (in AVCHD, 1280x720). Do you think that I will have any kind of problem? Like slow down clips, errors, freezing up moments, bad working... I can't buy a better computer, so I hope the one I have works perfectly.

really? ill have to try that, im having a ton of trouble getting my mts files to have HD quality on youtube unless i upload the raw mts file but I want to edit it first like you did. these shots look great btw
