  • Commercial radio was born on this day in 1920. This is also a sad day, Salty Brine died on this day in 2004. Thank you Salty, for the memories. You are in Heaven now with Mickey Finn.

  • It's from 1980 or later, they feature the 1980 song "Pilot of the Airwaves."

    Salty was the best.

  • Salty and Larry are now back together again, ruling the morning airwaves in the sky. I miss Salty and will now miss Larry greatly, as well, who I was fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of working with.

  • I grew up in Providence, over in Chad Brown in the 60s. Salty Brine was the fucking man. Staight up, likable, fair and warm. Simply put.......A legend. I was on his show when I was five years old. Much respect.

  • Thanks. I live in Florida now - but grew up in Connecticut in the 50's and early 60's and this was the man. Many great memories - thanks Salty...........

  • Mr answer box !

  • Salty picked us up hitch hiking in Narragansett we where like 16- 18 it was the 1960's and we were on our way to Aunt Carries for Clam cakes in Point Judith, close to where Salty lived. Needless to say we where baked on some weed and Salty was now in a different de-mention then Jimi Hendrix. When he let us out we said thank you and he did the "Don't forget to brush your teeth and say your prayer's . It was a "in the body experience" as we became 6 years old again.

  • a legend in Rhode Island, loved it I need to see reruns of salty brines shack
