  • You're meant to toast the spices before grinding Ramsey, have you not learnt anything all these years cooking?

  • My only problem with this little series of videos is that a Bamix is indeed an amazing piece of equipment, but it also costs a LOT. It's well worth it for a professional kitchen, but for the everyday kitchen, a 100 or so dollar version would be more than adequate.

It's like trying to convince everybody they should buy a Ferrari instead of a typical Ford, Honda, Toyota, etc...

  • @22j77 There's ONE distributor for Bamix in North America (based in Canada, I might add), plus a few retailers (e.g. Williams-Sonoma) have permission to sell one or two models, not the full line. Don't blame North America for that--for whatever reason, that's the way Bamix chooses to do business here and it's of course their right to do so.

  • @HotVoodooWitch I knew the Bamix from home but I couldn't find it in Canada. When I saw it on the shopping channel I ordered it.

I just say that you don't need a specialty store in Germany to get the Bamix. Blending up cooked veggies? I didn't expect that I need a good blender for THAT!

  • @22j77 I reiterate: anyone who spends $20 on a blender deserves what they get (I mean, come on--I'm surprised it didn't run on batteries) and I'm already aware of the virtues of the Bamix. I'm a bit puzzled, though, as to why an obvious connoisseur of quality housewares (based on exposure to huge quantity of well made [sic] stuff in Germany) and who already seems to own a Bamix is dropping $20 on what's obviously a piece of solid nitrogenous waste and then blaming North America.

  • @HotVoodooWitch I didn't expect much from the 20 buck blender. It broke when I blended soup! Come on!

The Bamix you can torture and abuse with frozen fruits and whatever the motor can handle.

I just hate the fact that crap is being produced that's not worth the packaging it comes in! What a waste! You do get crap like that in Germany, too. But at least you have a huge choice of well made stuff like the Bamix.

  • @22j77 As was pointed out by dspen787, we can get the Bamix, and the "crap" that "brake[s]" "like [we] get here in North America" is made in China--it's not homegrown and I'm going to guess that it's available in Germany as well, especially since firms like Zyliss aren't making much of anything in Switzerland anymore. And if you were naive enough to spend $20 on a blender, you really deserve what you got.

  • "THATS FUCKING RAW!!!" :D

  • If i got a handmixer why the fuck would i want to buy another piece of plastic?

  • They are good tools but i've got ... umm i think a braun one that does the job perfectly well and has done for maybe 5+ years
