Ever feel stressed, upset, angry? Of course you have, who hasn't? Most have their own way to deal with that stress, be it by working out, having a smoke, or just taking a break from it all. But have you ever used a sledgehammer to help relieve some of that stress? What if this act of controlled violence could be used to benefit veterans? Well you may have lost that chance this time around because the SVA (Student Veteran Association) at UNT held a Car Bash as a fundraiser last Wednesday. Ten percent of the proceeds even went to the United Service Organizations. They held the Car Bash at the Campus Green from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM and allowed students to ravage a car with a sledgehammer. For each dollar donation a student gave they could take a swing at the car. The car itself was donated by Motor Sports Towing and took quite a beating through the evening. This was the first fundraiser for the SVA this semester, which attracted several attendees as they shuffled between classes.
