Too slow and serious for something that wasn't supposed to be serious. Hard to get through the whole thing, especially when he made the song so much longer with instrumentals.

@albiedog Not to be critical, but Buddy didn't. If you've ever heard the version made by his band, the Crickets (after his death), that was probably closer to Buddy's vision. I mean, it was intended to be a "sequel" to Peggy Sue.

AMAZING
Did buddy intend it this way? Not too sure.
But as this version reaches its climax it is that emotional it makes you cry.
Stunning.

Stripped down and laid bare is a great reading by John Doe on Peggy Sue Got Married. This is a standout track on a really strong tribute album. Amazing to hear these familiar tunes in the hands of other artists.

great Buddy Holly cover. This is one of my favorite Buddy Holly songs. I hope to receive the 2 LP set within a few days. I am looking forward to it. All the songs on this album are great and most of the songs can be found on youtube
He sounds truly crushed :( His voice really brought out the sadness in knowing you're too late.
