Thompson made of Lego

This is a lego model of the M1A1 Thompson submachinegun. It features a peep sight (notch sights were rare among thompsons) and 30 round box magazine. Like in the previously made mp40 model, this gun also has a moveable bolt pulled by a rubber band. The trigger mechanism works the same as in the original Thompson. Unfortunately, the model proved brittle, so I had to reinforce the stock and the handle with duct tape. The receiver would break after a few shots, so I had that reinforced as well.

The Thompson is a hell of a gun - very lethal with its 0.45 cal= 1,143 cm round. Even by today's standards it is regarded as a powerfull weapon of war. Because of its power it has to be heavy and still it produces more recoil than 9 mm submachineguns. It's plain EVIL.

The Thompson was also known as: the Trench broom, the Chicago typewriter and the Tommy gun.

@STINKYPETE500X The stock is specific. An inch shorter meant bashing your face against the rear of the receiver. It had to be really carefully dimensioned.
